Jaclyn Lewis is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  She received her master’s degree at Wilmington University.

Jaclyn had worked as a RN for years before becoming a nurse practitioner which laid the foundation for her practice as a nurse practitioner.  She worked as a licensed practical nurse for a grant-funded program that served migrants, as a home care nurse with medically complex ventilator-dependent children, and as a primary medical care provider at PPEC facility caring for children with various medical conditions.

Jaclyn graduated a year later with her Associate in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in Maternal Child Health at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and  Bayhealth Medical Center.   Here she cared for pregnant, laboring, and postpartum mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients during their hospitalization.

She continued her work with medically complex pediatric patients at Nurses ‘n Kids PPEC facility and expanded her role in-home care to include caring for people of all ages.  After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, she went on to The Division of Public Health in Sussex County.  She oversaw multiple programs within public health including Maternal Child Home Visiting, Perinatal Hepatitis B, Lead, and AIDS Waiver.

After graduating with her master’s degree, Jaclyn then went on to work as a primary care nurse practitioner at Dover Family Physicians caring for people of all ages.  She was offered the opportunity to work at Nemours Children’s Health in Seaford as a primary care provider to children ages newborn to 21 which she gladly accepted, as pediatrics has been her passion.   She had worked there for 6 years before accepting her new role in Pediatrics at Atracare.

Jaclyn’s passion for working with children and their families is evident in the care she provides.  “As a nurse practitioner, I can help to improve the well-being of children and their family by helping them get access to preventive care and sharing my knowledge regarding healthy choices.  I feel many providers have a special area of interest, but my passion is to share information, guide and provide compassionate support to all of my patients and their families.  I have been complimented many times on my ability to listen, address concerns and provide a plan in a way that positively impacts those I provide care for.  This is my goal in each and every visit.”

In her free time, you can find her on the sidelines at the local high schools watching her children play or coach a sport, shopping or relaxing at home with her two yorkies and husband.
