Get to know Marie Hudson LACMH, CADC, DE-CMHS

Atracare welcomes new mental health therapist Marie Hudson LACMH, CADC, DE-CMHS. With 12 years of experience in Behavioral Health, Marie takes a holistic approach to therapy, considering both internal and external influences on her clients’ lives. Her genuine, eclectic, non-judgmental approach creates a safe space, allowing her to work effectively with clients. Marie’s therapy is practical, realistic, and grounded.  Marie has worked in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and clinical outpatient settings as a peer counselor and in leadership, serving SUD, MHS, and co-occurring clients before joining Atracare.  Marie’s counseling style is centered around the individual and incorporates various techniques to help clients develop the necessary skills to deal with life’s challenges and difficulties. When you visit her office, you’ll experience a safe and welcoming space where you can openly discuss your concerns and discover the solutions that will empower you to progress in life while obtaining your goals.  Marie specializes in treating clients with schizophrenia, PTSD, trauma, and complex trauma, as well as addressing issues related to abuse, sexual abuse, personality disorders, mood disorders and other mental health disorders, addictions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. Marie also has extensive experience working with first responders, individuals dealing with grief and loss, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals who have committed sexual offenses.

Originally from Northern Delaware, Marie now enjoys living on the Delaware coast. In her free time, Marie enjoys playing with her Pitbull, Ginger Mae, and spending time with her family and pup.  Marie loves food and is always down to try something new.  Marie loves adventures and enjoys traveling and being outdoors as much as possible, especially being close to the water in her downtime.  Marie also enjoys being a part of the Community Response Team (CRT) in response to reported hotspots for overdoses in Delaware and is a volunteer Firefighter/NREMT in her hometown.  She enjoys serving her community in multiple roles and capacities.
