Here’s what they have to say about why Atracare was started and what the clinic aims to offer to Delaware patients. 

Why Was Atracare Health Founded? 

During his studies at urban academic medical facilities, Dr. Will Albanese noticed that the care that patients received at those facilities was streamlined and timely. When he returned to Sussex County, he discovered that some patients were having to wait months to get the care they needed. Using his knowledge and expertise, he and his wife Dr. Lindsay Albanese founded Atracare Health with the goal of providing timely medical care and multiple services under one roof.  

Who Are Dr. Will and Dr. Lindsay Albanese? 

Dr. William Albanese studied at the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland. He is board certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist. When asked why founded Atracare, this is what he had to say. 

“Growing up down here, I thought it was normal to wait several weeks to see a physician or to get care. It didn’t dawn on me that that was not the normal process until I left and went on to get an education in academic institutions. My education allowed me to identify gaps in care here in the county. With that information, we are working so that patients can be seen right away, quickly, and efficiently. My wife and I decided to take those ideas from those academic and urban environments and bring them here to Sussex county where we have a rapidly growing population from out of state that is used to that kind of care and demands it here in the county.”

His wife, Dr. Lindsay Albanese studied at Duke and the University of Maryland. She is board certified in emergency medicine, and she manages Atracare’s walk-in care clinic. She shares her husband’s vision for Atracare and strives to bring professional health care services at an affordable cost to the Lewes community. She has spent countless hours treating patients at Shock Trauma Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, and Beebe Medical Center.
