We recognized a need in the community for an urgent care facility, so we created an all-in-one place where patients can go for treatment. From on-site rapid Covid and Viral testing to x-rays, we offer everything you need to get diagnosed and on your way to recovery without a trip to the emergency room.
Dr. Lindsay Albanese is the Director of Walk In Care at Atracare Health. She studied at Duke University and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Albanese recognized a need in her community for walk-in care services. Using her experience and education, she and her team collaborated to create Atracare Health, complete with an urgent care clinic. Here’s what Dr. Albanese says about her commitment to the Lewes community.
“My job is to help create an amazing experience for patients who need walk-in care. Whether you’re visiting at the beach or you live here in the area, we are open and here for you 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. When you can’t get in to see your primary care doctor, or if you don’t have a primary doctor but you have an urgent need, you can come in and see us. If you don’t see me here at the walk-in clinic, you’ll probably see me out walking my two Golden Retrievers who love to go swimming at the beach along with my husband and two sons. We love it here. This is our community. We did see a lack of access to healthcare for non-emergent issues, which is why we started Atracare. We want to make sure that our community is well taken care of. My passion is to help patients, and that’s the simple answer.”

We have a very clean, beautiful building with the capabilities to do rapid testing. We can test for flu, strep throat, RSV, Covid-19, urinary tract infections, and STDs. We can treat them in-house if necessary, and we have modern x-ray capabilities available on-site. We can draw your blood right here in the office and send it off to the lab while you wait. We can also perform an electrocardiogram if you need it for a pre-op physical or if you are having symptoms. Please make sure to remember Atracare Health as the go-to walk-in clinic if you’re in Lewes. We are here if you ever need anything, and we want people to know that.

Last week, the Delaware Nursing Association had its inaugural Daisy event in Dover, Delaware, where they recognized two direct care nurses throughout the state. Kelly Palekar, our psychiatric nurse practitioner in the mental health department, was given a distinguished honor and recognition for her direct patient care skills.
